Peyton Jane

A day late and a picture short, I am finally giving the people what they want. Please join me in welcoming Peyton Jane to our family!

Weighing in at 9lbs. 2oz. and measuring just over 20 inches, Peyton Jane was delivered via C-section at 11:15AM on August 11th, 2009. Both she and Mama are happy, healthy and getting plenty of well earned rest after a busy day. Though further evaluation is warranted, early indications are that Peyton Jane is literally made of "sugar and spice and everything nice." At the very least, that is overwhelming impression one is left with while in her presence. Alas, with her mother's looks and father's temperament, our genetic engineering project is showing early promise and earning rave reviews. We can't wait for you to meet her and find out for yourself, if you haven't already. Until then, enjoy some images from Day 1 in the life of Peyton Jane. Here's to you and the role we hope you'll play in the remaining days of Peyton Jane's beautiful life. Your love and support is cherished.

Last Dinner out as a family of 3!

We decided to head out for a burger and realized that it would most likely be our last meal out as a family of 3!
Nana has been down since Wednesday helping out and cooking up a storm while we eagerly await Peyton's arrival. Bubba and Rae Rae came down Friday, and they all headed out for a wedding in Redmond for the night.
I am being faced with the reality of having a repeat C-section. I am now 3 days past my due date and have a C-section scheduled for Tuesday (the only option this week). I hesitate to wait longer due to Parker's birth weight at nearly 2 weeks early. I wouldn't want Peyton to come out 11 pounds if I wait too long and still end up with a c-section! Please be praying that she either make her arrival in the next two days and/or that we have peace about the scheduled surgery on Tuesday.

Prayers

I wish I could say that we had some news to report! The last week has been a tough one mentally. I was 2-3 cm dialated at my doctor appointment last Tuesday and have been experiencing pretty much constant cramping and random contractions ever since, but no baby! Every night I wake up wondering how the heck I am still pregnant! I know my due date isn't officially until Tuesday, but we have been so convinced that she would come early based on all that I've been experiencing. We've tried every natural induction method in the book with no luck. Apparently this little girl is in no hurry (perhaps she is going to be a bit more like her father than we anticipated). I know that she will come when she is ready/in God's perfect time, but I can't help but feel discouraged by the fact that she isn't here yet. I was induced almost two weeks before my due date with Parker, so I don't remember feeling this kind of anxiety about timing and didn't have to go through quite the same level of physical and mental exhaustion. ('ve been alternating between frantic nesting and crashing/napping throughout the day, which is pretty comical if I were to take a look at my habits the last few days!)
As of now, I have a scheduled C-section come Monday if Peyton isn't here, so please pray that I am able to go into labor naturally in order to avoid this surgery at all costs!
I have another doctor appointment tomorrow, which will hopefully mean more progress to report. . . . .
